In order to open its doors and bring renewable energy generation closer to the community, AES Chile's Los Cururos Wind Farm received fourth grade students from the Fernando Binvignat high school in Coquimbo.

The initiative is part of the Open Doors program, the purpose of which is for the community to learn about the company's operations and projects throughout the country. On this occasion, the activity was carried out in coordination with the pedagogical outings of the Program for Access to Higher Education (PACE) of the Coquimbo Region, run by the Universidad Católica del Norte.

On this occasion, a group of 19 students and teachers participated, who were received by the Chief of Operations of Los Cururos, Javier Varas. The visit contemplated the presentation of the different areas, the generation process and the operation of the wind farm, together with the environmental measures and the management of community relations.

Subsequently, the students and teachers toured the park facilities, where they were able to see the electrical substation and some wind turbines.

“We are very happy to see the enthusiasm of the students with this type of visits, because they fulfill the purpose of bringing the community closer, but also to educate and motivate future generations with the development of renewable energies in the country”, assured Javier Varas.
