December 20, 2023
In order to provide tools that encourage the possibility of new work challenges, a total of 30 residents of Tocopilla were certified free of charge in the Class 3 Gas Installer and Class A2 driving training courses.
The initiative is part of the employability training policy promoted by AES Chile in Tocopilla and has the support of the municipality. The objective of the courses is to provide tools to Tocopillanos that allow them to increase dependent employability or local entrepreneurship.
The Class 3 Installer course had a duration of 80 hours, while the Class A2 Driving course had 130 intensive hours that took place during September and October of this year.
The classes combined theoretical aspects with intense practical work. 15 people participated in each course, with the female presence standing out, with 54% in Gas Installer and 57% in Driving A2.
Meanwhile, the A2 Driving course was carried out by the Automobile Club of Chile in online mode and the practical classes were held in the offices of this OTEC in Antofagasta. For this, AES Chile arranged for the transportation of all participants.
The Class 3 Gas Installer course included a tool subsidy for each participant who passed the course, with the purpose of giving an early start to this trade.
“I am very grateful to AES Chile for giving us the opportunity to improve ourselves as people, women and mothers. I took the gas appliance installation course and I would very much like to continue preparing myself in the future with other initiatives and thus have a paid job to cover the expenses of our families,” said Sonia Lauracio, one of the beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, the person in charge of the Labor Information Office (OMIL) of the Municipality of Tocopilla, Keidy Peña, assured that “I would like to thank AES Chile for its great and generous contribution, in which they delivered the technical tools to the residents of our city. ”.
Along with thanking the support of the Municipality of Tocopilla, the Manager of the AES Chile North Complex, Vanni Boggio, highlighted that “this initiative is a reflection of AES Chile's commitment to the community of Tocopilla. “We are very happy to be able to generate tools that promote employability, along with the creation of knowledge and skills to enter the world of work or to carry out personal project undertakings.”
