Thanks to the Community Infrastructure Fund associated with the operation of the AES Chile Campo Lindo Wind Farm, the Arrayán Las Violetas Neighborhood Council - located in the rural town of Los Ángeles of the same name - made significant improvements to the infrastructure of its community headquarters.
Specifically, it involved remodeling and expanding the kitchen of the place, repairing windows, installing furniture, building two bathrooms inside the premises and enabling a septic tank.
These arrangements, which involved an investment of $20 million, will allow this neighborhood council, which includes 150 members, to have a better space for the development of community activities, such as assembly meetings, training courses, ceremonies, events, among others.
The president of the organization, Elizabeth Rebolledo, valued the improvements, pointing out that "the neighbors are very proud, they appreciate the bathrooms, they have a huge kitchen and the space inside is even more temperate, because before the wind came in from all sides."
Meanwhile, Benjamín Rengifo, head of Territorial Management and Communities in the Southern Zone of AES Chile, highlighted that “as Campo Lindo Wind Farm we are very pleased to have contributed to the development of the expansion of the social and community headquarters of the Arrayan las Violetas Residents’ Association. We believe that this organization is essential for the development of the social fabric of the town and its headquarters is a meeting point, where families can meet, where important events are held.
In this regard, Rengifo added that “having bathrooms and a septic tank are minimum conditions in terms of hygiene for the community. Today, thanks to the work of the community, they have that and an ideal space to carry out all the community activities in the sector.”
