The residents of the town of Las Ventanas de Puchuncaví managed to fulfill an old desire: the paving of Los Castaños Street, which will become a reality thanks to an initiative signed between the municipality and AES Chile.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by the mayor of Puchuncaví, Marcos Morales, councilors Erika Galarce and Juan Peña, as well as regional councilor Carlos Vegas; the Manager of the AES Chile Center Complex, Marcelo Morales, residents of the Miramar, Las Ventanas, Renacer and La Greda sectors.

The initiative - which includes an investment of 250 million pesos - will benefit nearly 3,500 residents and will allow the paving of 300 linear meters, in addition to the replacement of more than 2,000 square meters of vibrated cement concrete, nearly 1,500 square meters of sidewalks and 600 linear meters of pavements.

In addition, the work includes the installation of speed bumps and the respective traffic signs.

Universal accessibility devices and sidewalk widths will also be implemented to guarantee better movement of pedestrians in the area, promoting inclusion and comfort for everyone.

“September comes with very good news to the commune of Puchuncaví. Today we are on Los Castaños Street in Ventanas, where a new road will be built that is a dream for the residents of the sector,” said the mayor.

The highest communal authority highlighted that “we can see how dreams come true. I am very grateful for the citizen participation and the social leaders of the sector. The public-private alliance gives results, because AES Chile together with the municipality have been able to sign an agreement to be able to execute this important work in the sector."

Meanwhile, Marcelo Morales assured that "we are very happy as a company to have reached this agreement with the municipality, because it will allow the residents of Los Castaños street to have an alternative access that will connect from La Greda to Las Ventanas."

The executive added that "we are convinced that the company's role goes far beyond the business itself, because it is necessary to generate value in the environment, which should aim at economic development and the quality of life of the communities."

Manuel Varela, president of the Renacer Neighborhood Board, commented that “we spent a long time fighting for this project. I highlight the support of AES Chile, which helped us make the three passages at the beginning and now they had committed to finishing the main street with the start of the works.”

The initiative is part of the joint work between the Municipality of Puchuncaví, AES Chile and the communities where the company maintains its operations. Through these projects we seek to contribute and strengthen the quality of life of neighbors and their families.
