  • Thanks to the contribution of $20 million from the Community Infrastructure Fund associated with the San Matías Wind Farm, from AES Chile, more than 150 people will benefit from a new space to strengthen community life.

With the attendance of representatives from the community, AES Chile, and the municipality, the neighborhood headquarters for the community activities of the Sol de Rarinco Committee of Los Ángeles was officially inaugurated. This project, which was made possible thanks to the $20,000,000 Community Infrastructure Fund associated with the San Matías Wind Farm, consists of 78 square meters and will benefit more than 150 people, promoting community life and collaboration with other social organizations in the same area, such as sports clubs.

Marisol Valdebenito, president of the Sol de Rarinco Committee, highlighted that "all the members are happy with this achievement because, after 26 years, we have our own headquarters to hold courses, have our meetings, and organize events for children and the elderly. Great things will be done in our headquarters from now on."

Meanwhile, Fabiola Pascal, municipal delegate of the Santa Fe sector, emphasized that "for the communities, it is a very important project as it is almost like having their own house where they can meet, hold workshops, and have a communion among neighbors. I also thank the San Matías Wind Farm for the support they are providing to the communities of Santa Fe and the surrounding areas. They have been good neighbors and collaborators with the municipality."

Cristián Olivares, head of Operations and Maintenance of the San Matías Wind Farm, stated that "seeing the joy of the people celebrating this achievement after so many years and that it is thanks to the contribution of our company undoubtedly makes me proud and brings us even closer to the community."

The community work of AES Chile associated with the operation of the wind farm will extend for 30 years, which will promote local development within the framework of the company's Social Investment Strategy.
