CONCRETE INITIATIVE WITH THE SUPPORT OF LOS OLMOS WIND FARM OF AES CHILE:
Neighbors of Mulchén reinforce the security of their homes with the installation of surveillance cameras
August 10, 2023
- The project consists of the installation of almost 90 devices.
In order to contribute to granting greater security to the residents of Mulchén, the community program “Mirada Segura en San Luis de Malven” began.
The project consists of the installation of 88 outdoor security cameras, which will benefit 44 families in the sector, who will also receive a talk by the Mulchén Police Quadrant Plan.
The initiative came to fruition thanks to the collaborative work between the community and the Los Olmos Wind Farm of AES Chile and is part of the Global Participatory Fund, which began to be executed with the entry into operation of the wind power plant.
Iván González, president of the San Luis Malven Committee, said that “the project was born together with our neighbors to improve the security of the sector, due to the increase in crime. With this we seek to have visual support in the event of a crime.”
The leader added that "as a community we are happy to have the opportunity to develop and execute initiatives that benefit everyone."
Meanwhile, the head of Territorial Management and South Zone Communities of AES Chile, Benjamín Rengifo, assured that “we are very happy to be able to contribute to granting greater security to our neighbors, who now have a powerful tool to protect their homes. Initiatives of this type constitute a clear example of the fruitful dialogue between communities and companies”.
The Los Olmos Wind Farm Global Participatory Fund is a social investment program that provides resources to the six social organizations in the area of influence of the wind power plant. It is intended for the development of community projects, through six action surroundings detected by the residents themselves.
