This week, certification ceremonies for the "Beekeeping," "Project Formulation," "Digital Literacy," "First Aid," and "Urban Gardens" courses, developed by AES Chile in January and February for the residents of the Campo Lindo Wind Farm's influence area, were held at the neighborhood associations' headquarters in La Trancas and Porvenir.
The courses, implemented by AIEP, were conducted in person and lasted 12 hours each, benefiting around 40 people, mostly women.
These courses were part of the 7 themes addressed in the 15 courses that AES Chile conducted during the summer in the influence areas of the company's four wind farms in the Biobío region.
The ceremonies were attended by students, representatives of the neighborhood associations, Cristián Olivares, Head of Operation and Maintenance of PE Campo Lindo; Benjamín Rengifo, Territorial and Community Manager of AES Chile in the southern zone of the country; Fabiola Pascal, municipal delegate of the sector; Carolina Rivas, Coordinator of Social Investment of the AES Chile Foundation, and Tatiana Igor Villanueva, director of the AIEP headquarters in Los Angeles.
The high participation in the courses was due to the collaborative work between the representatives of the AES Chile Foundation, the company, and the neighborhood associations, who provided great support in the dissemination and registration process.
Carolina Rivas, Coordinator of Social Investment of the AES Chile Foundation, highlighted that the high attendance in the courses was because "the neighbors were very happy and interested in learning. We are very grateful for the willingness of each of the participants, as a very pleasant atmosphere was generated where they could express themselves and support each other."
Nayaret Montoya, who received certification for passing the Project Formulation course, thanked AES Chile for this opportunity and added that "I found the instance good because they taught us how to proceed to apply for courses or funds. It was a very comprehensive course. I also liked being able to share with the neighbors; hopefully, these instances will be repeated in the sector."
Meanwhile, Cristián Olivares, Head of Operation and Maintenance of the Campo Lindo Wind Farm, stated that "the result of these courses has been extremely positive. Undoubtedly, this brings us even closer to our communities and allows them to acquire new knowledge to continue developing."
