The residents of Puchuncaví managed to carry out two important projects aimed at improving their quality of life, with the support of resources from the ninth version of the Puchuncaví Competitive Fund, promoted by AES Chile in coordination with the municipality.
It is a new sports clothing for the Sports Club for the Force and the Song of Puchuncaví and the continuity of the pocket square Horcomad de Horcón.
This latest initiative - inaugurated on July 14 - will directly benefit the more than 70 members of the Horcomad Advancement Board, by setting up a space to promote physical activity among residents. In addition, workshops were held to promote healthy living and sports led by a teacher.
In 2020, the first stage of the project began, which incorporated the application of fill material (foundation) in some of the areas of the square to improve pedestrian movement, together with the installation of solar lighting.
The second stage of the project contemplated the installation of children's games, structures to play chess.
"This is a project that, in addition to implementing a space to promote healthy living, brings together many aspects around the recovery of public spaces to form a meeting place for the families that make up this small sector of Horcón," he said.
Luis Sepúlveda, Head of Chemical Control and Water Management at the Ventanas Power Plant of AES Chile.
Also thanks to the ninth version of the Puchuncaví Competitive Fund, the Puchuncaví Sports Club for Force and Song has since this month new sports clothing that will benefit around 60 girls and boys.
The clothing delivery ceremony was held on Thursday, July 13, at the municipal gymnasium of the commune, an opportunity attended by councilors Erika Galarce, Juan Elías Pérez, together with the president of the Club Deportivo Por la Fuerza del Canto, Cristián Esparza; the director of the soccer school, Luis Ureta; Luis Sepúlveda, as well as teachers and children.
“We are very happy to be able to contribute to an institution that delivers such value to the girls and boys of our commune. The learning, the equipment and the implementation acquired with the awarded funds, will allow the social sports club to continue with its mission, leaving the name of Puchuncaví and the virtues of its community high”, assured Luis Sepúlveda.
Meanwhile, councilman Juan Elías Pérez, said that "it is spectacular that this activity mainly benefits children, because working with them both in sports and in education is the best that can be done."
Councilor Erika Galarce also had a similar opinion, who stressed that "all projects are important, but they have additional value when they are aimed at children, because it is training and entertainment that has added value."
Cristián Esparza, president of the club, said that “I am very happy to receive from AES Chile the complete kit, both home, away and training. It is tremendously gratifying, since the soccer school is non-profit and we work week after week with migrant, low-income and local girls and boys.”
