Mejillones Industrial Association visited Angamos and AES Chile Cochrane

In order to know in the field the operations of the Angamos and Cochrane power plants of AES Chile, the Association of Industrialists of Mejillones (AIM) paid a visit to the framework of the Open Doors program.

 

The initiative is part of the informative work that the company carries out in its projects and operations throughout the country, in order for the community to learn about its functioning.

 

This is how the delegation -headed by the General Manager of the union, José Robles- was received by the Manager of the North Complex of AES Chile, Vanni Boggio, who to a safety talk, he gave a presentation on the operation of the power plants, to later visit the main facilities of both complexes thermoelectric.

 

On the occasion, the visitors learned about equipment such as boilers, turbines and emission abatement and monitoring systems, along with relationship work community that the company carries out with the neighbors of Mejillones.

 

“This visit has allowed us to dispel myths and learn that AES Chile has advanced technology to have an operation of excellence, not only environmental, but also socially," said the General Manager of the Association of Industrialists of Mussels, José Robles.

 

"We are very happy with the Association's visit, because it is an opportunity to share knowledge and experiences that help to know the particularities of the operation of both the national electrical system and the generating plants, and the importance of ensuring a reliable and safe supply of energy to the country," he said. Meanwhile, Karina Rivadeneira, AIM project consultant, stated that "the best of this visit has been to know in depth the security levels that AES Chile has at its facilities in Mejillones, which as citizens of the commune gives us a different peace of mind when knowing and knowing how the company works”.
