La Greda School manages to improve infrastructure thanks to the Puchuncaví Competitive Fund

The La Greda de Puchuncaví School managed to make a significant improvement in its infrastructure, in order to enhance the learning process of its students.

The initiative is part of the ninth version of the Puchuncaví Competitive Fund (FCP), promoted by AES Chile in coordination with the municipality.

This is the project called, “Rescuing our roots with learning for life”, which in its second stage allowed the creation of a new space in the library for the little ones, in addition to the expansion and new furniture for the workshop. clay.

In the first phase - as part of the seventh version of the FCP - the school enabled a container for the clay workshop and has now managed to complete the expansion to join it with the library.

“This is a huge contribution to the community. The Parent Center is very participatory, which makes it possible for these instances to develop and now have a creative area so that children can have their own space,” said Puchuncaví councilor Andrés Campos.

He added that "we know that reading is a very complicated issue, in which it is difficult for new generations to acquire a method in the face of externalities such as cell phones, but this new space gives us the opportunity to improve."

Valeska Canales, president of the Center for Parents and Guardians of the La Greda School, said that “this is a very important project for us, since it allows children to acquire manual skills and we also recover our roots with learning that has meaning.” for the development of their lives.”

Meanwhile, Macarena Badilla, head of Social Investment at the AES Chile Foundation, highlighted that “projects that have an impact on teaching acquire a more significant meaning, since as a company we are aware that investing in education is one of the best contributions that we can leave in the community.”

About the Puchuncaví Competitive Fund

The Puchuncaví Competitive Fund considers an annual amount of 4,711 UF, which, in its nine versions, has benefited more than 250 projects from 163 social organizations, for more than $1,168 million destined to improve the quality of life of residents.

The allocation of competitive funds is determined by a board of directors made up of members of the Municipality and AES Chile.
