July 10, 2023

In order to contribute to the strengthening of education in Puchuncaví, AES Chile and the municipality launched a new version of the Pre-University Program, which will be taught for the first time in person in the commune.

Thus, in its 12th version, the initiative will now allow students to optimize their time, since they were previously transferred to Viña del Mar to complete these studies.

The program -aimed at 30 students from the Sargento Aldea and General Velasquez schools- seeks to prepare students for free to take the Higher Education Access Test (PAES), through leveling and training carried out by the Pedro Preuniversity from Valdivia.

For this, classes are contemplated on Fridays and Saturdays in the subjects of language and mathematics, in addition to the delivery of support material and the use of the intranet web, where the beneficiaries can download material with content and exercises.

The launch ceremony of the Pre-University Program was held at the General Velasquez de Puchuncaví school, an opportunity in which the councilors Juan Elías Pérez, Andrés Campos and Erika Galarce participated, together with the director of the Municipal Education Department, Patricia Colarte.

The directors of the Sargento Aldea and General Velasquez schools, Cristián Vergara and Juan Figueroa, respectively, together with the assistant manager of Fuels of the Central Ventanas of AES Chile, Fernando Breytmann and the representative of the Pre-university Pedro de Valdivia, were also present. Eduardo Canessa.

“We are very happy to launch a new version of the pre-university, which this year has the novelty of bringing the program directly to the commune and thus avoiding the longer trips that students had to make. The idea is that they can focus on preparing an adequate SEAP and meeting their goals in order to have better job opportunities in the future,” said Fernando Breytmann.

The executive added that "we are convinced that the best possible investment is in education, since this generates structural changes in the quality of life of people and their families."

The initiative is part of the joint work between the Municipality of Puchuncaví, AES Chile and the communities where the company maintains its operations. Through these projects, the aim is to contribute and strengthen the quality of life of residents and their families.
