In its first session, the Council elected its president and defined the way to deliver financing for the projects.
With important agreements, the first session of the Council of the Participatory Global Fund (FGP) of the Campo Lindo Wind Farm of AES Chile was concluded.
This is one of the commitments assumed by the company and the communities through a collaboration agreement, which has been materialized in each of the stages of the process after the wind initiative began its operation at the beginning of May this year.
The body is in charge of the annual definition of the bases that guide the financing process of the projects that will be developed by the five neighborhood associations in the area of influence of the wind power plant located in Los Angeles: N°38 Rarinco Los Robles, Allipén- Las Trancas, San Antonio Las Quintas, Candelaria Virquenco and Arrayán Las Violetas.
The FGP is represented by these organizations representing the residents, in addition to two members from AES Chile and another from the Municipality of Los Angeles, while the AES Chile Foundation is in charge of administering the FGP and also acts as secretary. technique in the Council.
Among the agreements made by the body in its first session on November 27, the unanimous election as president of the council of René Salcedo, who holds the same position in the San Antonio Las Quintas Neighborhood Council, stands out. In addition, the method of payment of project financing was approved and the possibility of holding council meetings electronically if any member could not participate.
“We as territorial organizations have high expectations for this fund because it will allow us to develop many initiatives and desires that we have as a community,” said Salcedo.
He added that, with the resources, his community seeks to “improve our environment. The first project is intended to repair the easement roads that are very impoverished and deteriorated.”
Meanwhile, the head of Operations and Maintenance of Campo Lindo, Cristián Olivares, said that “this is a milestone for the development of this park, which also brings us closer to the community, because we are going to live together for at least 25 years. The fact of having this instance links us and we can collaborate mutually for the good of the neighbors.”
