The AIEP Professional Institute, Los Angeles headquarters, recognized AES Chile and its community management team for their contribution to the link with the territories of the province of Biobío.

In a ceremony held this week, the higher education center distinguished the company for its contribution to the territory, thanks to its contribution to the development of the productive sector, services, and the quality of life of the communities.

“Thanks to the work we have been doing with AES Chile, we have been able to bring our students closer to the wind projects in our province and to the work with our communities. It is for this reason that we are very happy to have distinguished them as community partners”, said Tatiana Igor Villanueva, director of AIEP Los Angeles headquarters.

The teacher added: "We hope that the work we have been doing will be strengthened this year and we can develop new initiatives for 2024 that are associated not only with the communities, but also with the province in general."

Within the framework of its Open Doors Program, AES Chile has been carrying out a series of guided visits to its wind farms for students of careers related to the development of renewable energies in Biobío, in order for them to acquire the necessary knowledge in the field to their formation.

"We want to thank AIEP for this recognition, which is a reflection of the strategic alliances that we have implemented with the private and academic world, in order to come up with better and greater initiatives of positive impact to the communities in the area of influence of our projects" , said Benjamín Rengifo, head of Territorial Management and Communities South Zone of AES Chile.

He stressed that "as a company it is essential to be a channel and a tool so that students who are pursuing their higher education can strengthen their skills and help in the learning and service methodology that AIEP implements in their different schools and careers."

AES Chile currently operates the Los Olmos, Mesamávida and Campo Lindo wind farms in the province of Biobío, in order to provide 100% renewable energy to the National Electric System. These initiatives are part of the Greentegra transformational strategy that the company launched in May 2018 and which, along with accelerating the future of energy, seek to contribute to mitigating the effects of climate change.
