AES Andes completes its delisting process
April 23, 2024
As of Wednesday, April 17, 2024, AES Andes shares ceased to be traded on the Chilean stock exchanges. The process, which the company started in August 2023 requesting the cancellation of the registration of its shares in the Stock Exchange Registry, concluded with the certification issued by the Comisión para el Mercado Financiero (CMF), Chile’s Financial Market Commission.
The process of cancellation of the registration of the shares began after the success of the Public Offering of Shares launched by The AES Corporation, which today holds 99.5% of the shares of AES Andes. As part of this, the company advances in its initiative to simplify governance structures and streamline the decision-making process in the context of the global transformational strategy carried out by the group.
AES Andes continues to be a registered company with the CMF as it is an issuer of publicly offered securities (bonds).
Chile is one of the main markets where AES continues its expansion to accelerate the future of energy. The AES Corporation has highlighted the country as a key growth market for renewable energy and storage systems, in line with the company's long-term commitment to the country.
AES's portfolio in Chile involves investments in renewable energy and storage systems of more than US$ 2 billion over the next five years.
