Juan Carlos Monckeberg Fernández
Environment Director
He is a geographer from the Catholic University and a Master's in Environmental Law from the University of Chile. His professional career has been carried out in the public, private and civil society spheres.
His work in the implementation of the environmental institutional reform stands out, as Superintendent of the Environment and previously as head of the Environmental Evaluation and Citizen Participation Division of the Environmental Evaluation Service. In the private sphere, he worked in the companies Sacyr, Pacific Hydro, Jaime Illanes Consultores, NexoSocial and ECOS.
In 2018, he took over as environmental director for the South American business unit (Colombia, Chile and Argentina) to take charge of the company's environmental strategy in the areas of development, construction, operation and closure of projects. His position includes the legal representation of the company in environmental matters before administrative and judicial authorities.
He is part of the board of the AES Chile Foundation, in charge of executing the company's social investment strategy (www.aesandes.com) and represents the company's interests in various Climate Change, Sustainability and Environment committees.
